We have only 4 attending (Bill, Destiny, Kathy, Lucy –all group leaders) arriving in that order.
Brings up the question of what to change/do due to the low attendance.
*Venue a problem? Except for being a tad south, overall Everyone agrees the venue is ok.
Bill mentioned member Scott having interest in setting up hacker meetings locally which would be similar to http://CrashSpace.Org , and notes from http://blog.crashspace.org/membership/ they charge $108/mo/person for unlimited access.
I reply that:
*(OCAndroid re Collab Space in Costa Mesa http://www.meetup.com/OCAndroid/messages/boards/thread/21113372) found it’s very pretty but not cheap: ~$20/day. For the same price (the cost of a good pizza and drinks, which we also get & eat), we get the venue where we’re now at, and much simpler (notably no subscription). So what we have now seems a better deal
*We could do a general hacker meetings (of all hacking, beyond OCAndroid) right here in this present venue
**On hearing this, Bill seems to agree with the above.
*(now) I note thatCrashSpace is not very pretty from it’s photo, though notably cheaper than the Collab Space.
*New location advertised enough? Everyone thinks it has been now.
Too frequent? Yes likely.
Bill suggests every-other-week.
Destiny(me) is flexible either way.
Kathy & Lucy are ok with wever-other week.
OK, we change to every other week.
*Starting when?
**Due to a conflict with having to help her friend Joan, Lucy would like to postpone next meeting (users) http://www.meetup.com/OCAndroid/events/59544272/ but realizes & accepts we can’t we already have 10 in attendance, many of which we rescheduled once before.
**That meeting stays in place and the skipped week will start after that.
A few minutes ago, at my Destiny’s request, Lucy has started creating a banner for meetings
using http://www.avery.com/myavery/ ‘s OCAndroid account traf24 to create
I had no intention to going to avery.com for a banner. Avery doesn’t sell labels to make banners. I though you were talking about aviary.com.
I went to aviary.com to see if I could create a vector graphic file for a banner, but made no progress with it.
so I downloaded Inkscape, but found that I still do not have enough skill with it to create a graphic
so I quickly created a banner in Photoshop elements, file name TBA.
I then found a program, name TBA, which turns jpg files into PDFs that print as banners (tiled), which I plan to use to render the final banner unless the graphics are too pixelated, in which case, I’ll have to start over.
As hacking turnoutout hasn’t been as much as we’d like, I suggested (for OCAndroid hacking, attendees bring their extension of a preselected open-source program http://1.JotHere.com/2975) and since it was well received, created this post.
Bill showed off QArt Coder.
QArt Coder is a site that generates QR codes with icons integrated in a way that’s mathematically correct. The tool is at:
http://research.swtch.com/qr/draw
and the writeup with source code is at:

On transferring my Virgin Mobile account (grandfathered in at $25/mo) to Bill, including so he has:
*A full smartphone with service (right now he has smartphones with no service, and a plain cell phone with just phone service and no data)
*A hotspot for OCAndroid meetings.
Just before the Meeting, we have this SMSing, quote(
William “Bill” R. Zwicky: At round table now. also, will take your virgin phone. 5:47 PM
Me: gd will do transfer 5:54 PM
Me: there 5:55 PM
)
At the meeting I show him the equipment and start setting up Skype in my Kubuntu laptop (so I can privately call Virgin Mobile and square up my account then start the transfer to him)
