Where observed & not & the workaround done
~4 weeks ago, I first observed with user msrtech: first email address kk..kf@msrtech.com would get no email, so switched to am..ou@gmail.com and all worked fine.
~2hrs ago, 2nd observed with user bigwavedave: initial email address le,,or@yahoo.com would get no email, so at M4LHGV switched to bo..an@gmail.com and all worked fine.

~1hr ago, “Sun, Jun 17, 2012 at 6:55 PM” (time of registration email), it failed with new user jean when she registered with an..ta@yahoo.com: WordPress sent out email notifying admin of her registration but she got no email of her password: she checked both her Inbox & Spam for that email. She told me she had no other email address so I had her set her password manually. This will allow her to make posts & comments, but it is NOT an acceptable long-term solution as she still seemingly won’t get emails when people reply to posts & comments she’s watching.
~about 2hrs ago I saw what appears to be another occurrence of this bug for Michael Chen. Note here if it turns out to be, and if so further details should go here.

**So far when this happens, the user’s account is created WordPress silently fails to send out emails to the user. However I’ve searched say http://1.JotHere.com/wp-admin/users.php?s=mikes&action=-1&new_role&paged=1&action2=-1 but can’t your account but might not have the right search criteria ; or that WordPress deleted your account attempt since verification wasn’t completed.
*to diagnose & fix:
**what username did you request?
**What email did you use? (Reply with this detail via email so to not expose your email address.)
**When did you attempt it? (be as precise as you can so I can check the logs)
*If we can’t repair the problem, I’ll create your account manually.
