Bill presents his new Yinlips YDPG18A (an Android game device, copying Sony Playstation Vita, with optional 4G dongle)
*Exterior looks almost identical to like Sony Playstation Vita (2011).
*Ordered for $120 via http://www.willgoo.com/new-yinlips-ydpg18a-android23-capacitive-5points-touch-4g-p-246.html
**Says “Android2.3 Capacitive 5-Points Touch 4G” but also says “Three ways connecting on line: WiFi, 3G dongle and wired”
**Says “2160P HDMI ouput”
**arrived from Singapore pst2012.08.15wed
*maker’s page Google-translated to English
How does it compare with apparent notable competitor the Ouya upcoming Android game console (presented at last meeting)?
*Some obvious points:
*A lot more portable it would seem, including has its own screen & joystick
**Also has HDMI output, notably “*Features “2160P HDMI video output” -impressive!
*But Slower, faster?
*Game compatibility & selection?
*But can it have external joysticks?
*What about multi-person play?
I & maybe Bill present on Android thin computer aka Android Media Player
*exciting upcoming likely rage –see that link for full details
*reply-post related details on the appropriate spots, including here here if about the presentation
The definitive “thin computer”, at least here in the U.S., is the Raspberry Pi http://www.raspberrypi.org . $25 for the base model, $35 for the top model, case extra. I believe the Chinese versions predate the Pi, but the Pi is by far the cheapest.
Destiny mentioned MirrorOp remote desktop solution.
Bill presents his Android-controlled toy helicopter 2
*It’s a very cute toy: real flying toy helicopter controlled via IR transmitter plugged into the headphone jack of most any Android device with the controller an Android app.
*His 1st 1 (a few months ago) was defective so wouldn’t power up.
*Hopefully his 2nd will work but so far it hasn’t, but maybe you can help.
